White TPO membrane flat roof with pipe penetrations and roof drain

TPO / Flat Roofing

TPO and flat roofing in Albuquerque, detailed the way it should be.

We install 60-mil TPO membrane systems and treat seams, penetrations, and terminations as the main event — because that's where flat roofs fail.

Overview

Why we favor 60-mil TPO on New Mexico flat roofs.

A reflective white TPO membrane holds up well under the high-UV, high-heat conditions we get here, and the heavier 60-mil thickness gives the roof more resistance to foot traffic, hail, and mechanical damage than thinner options.

The membrane itself is the easy part. Long service life comes from heat-welded seams that are probed and verified, correctly flashed penetrations, properly terminated parapets, and slope that actually moves water to a drain.

Beyond TPO, we work with modified bitumen, other low-slope assemblies, and coating or restoration systems, and we handle the tie-ins where a flat roof meets shingle, tile, or metal. The one system we don't install or replace is tar-and-gravel (built-up gravel) roofing.

Not every flat roof needs replacement. If the insulation is dry and the field is sound, a scoped repair program is often the right call — and we'll tell you when that's the case.

60-mil TPO installation

Mechanically attached or adhered systems selected for the building and deck.

  • Reflective white membrane
  • Probed, verified seams
  • Clean edge terminations

Seams & details

The joints, corners, and transitions that determine whether the roof leaks.

  • Heat-welded laps
  • Inside/outside corners
  • Curb and wall flashings

Penetrations

Every pipe, conduit, curb, and unit gets a purpose-built detail.

  • Pipe boots & pitch pans
  • HVAC curb flashing
  • Conduit and support blocking

Insulation & taper

Thermal performance and positive drainage planned together, not separately.

  • Polyiso insulation layup
  • Tapered crickets & saddles
  • Drain sump detailing

What we check

Repair or replace: how we decide

  • Core samples or probes to check for saturated insulation
  • Seam integrity and the extent of previous patchwork
  • Membrane thickness loss, cracking, and UV degradation
  • Standing water and low spots relative to drains
  • Condition of parapets, coping, and terminations
  • Deck and substrate condition beneath the assembly
  • Remaining service life against your ownership timeline

Roof systems

Flat and low-slope systems we work on

60-mil TPO single-ply, modified bitumen, other low-slope assemblies, coatings and restoration, tapered insulation, and the seams, flashings, penetrations, drains, scuppers, and canales that keep them watertight. We do not install or replace tar-and-gravel (built-up gravel) roofing.

Shingle & pitched roofs

  • Architectural asphalt shingles
  • Dimensional shingles
  • Pitched roof tear-offs and reroofs
  • Deck repair, underlayment, and drip edge

Metal roofing

  • Standing seam metal roofing
  • Exposed-fastener metal panels
  • Metal flashing, trim, and terminations
  • Metal roof repairs and re-fastening

Tile roofing

  • Concrete and clay tile roofs
  • Tile repair and selective replacement
  • Underlayment replacement beneath tile
  • Ridge, hip, and valley detailing

Low-slope & flat systems

  • TPO single-ply membrane (60-mil)
  • Modified bitumen systems
  • Low-slope and flat roof assemblies
  • Insulation layup and tapered drainage

Coatings & restoration

  • Roof coatings and restoration systems
  • Recoat of sound low-slope roofs
  • Seam and detail reinforcement
  • Maintenance programs and scheduled visits

Details, drainage & repairs

  • Flashing, valleys, and wall transitions
  • Pipe boots, curbs, and penetrations
  • Drains, scuppers, and canales
  • Leak investigation and targeted repairs

One exception: We do not install or replace tar-and-gravel (built-up gravel) roofing. If your building has a gravel roof, we can still assess it and quote a replacement with a TPO, modified bitumen, or coating system instead.

Get your flat roof assessed properly.

We'll document the assembly, tell you whether repair or replacement makes financial sense, and price both when it's a close call.
